Video Switches

SmartAVI, a division of Applica, Inc., offers a wide range of high-quality switching matrix, video routers and video switches. The switches are suitable for XVGA, Digital Video Interface (DVI), ADC (For G4 and G5 users), Composite Video, SVGA, XGA, RGBHV and Sync on Green (SOG) applications. The units contain a very high bandwidth routing matrix for the Red, Green and Blue video channels and separate switching layers for Horizontal and Vertical Syncs. All the combined signals are driven through standard RJ45s on the front panel.

Standard SmartAVI VGA receiver units are used at the end on each CAT5 cable to recover the signals. High quality receiver circuits incorporating cable loss compensation provide excellent results up to resolutions of 1600 x 1200 @ 85Hz. Compatible with all types of UTP and STP cables, the receivers can have optional internal skew compensations fitted, which solves the problem of delay errors found in the higher specification structured cabling.

USB Extenders

The SMART U,UX,UXX USB + XVGA extender combines two unique SmartAVI technologies into one enclosure. It reliably transmits USB signals, XVGA and Stereo Audio signals long distances over two CAT5 UTP cables. The combination of these two popular technologies offers elegant and less costly solutions for a variety of applications.

DVI Extenders

SmartAVI DVI extenders can extend any DVI-I signal up to 500 ft with a single CAT5 cable while retaining a perfectly clear, crisp image resolution of up to 1600 x 1200 and up to 10km over fiber optics icluding keyboard, mouse and audio.

The DVX500 KVM extender is all about breaking away from the traditional model of attaching a new display to a DVI graphic source. Using the DVX500 KVM extender, you can remotely locate monitors, keyboards and mice up to 140 meters away from your CPU.

KVM Solutions

SmartAVI offers a wide range of KVM solutions designed to broadcast desktop keyboard, video, mouse, RS232 and stereo audio signals over high resolution, unshielded, twisted pair CAT5 cabling. A Video Automatic Gain Control system compensated for signal loss allows users to be located up to 500 feet away from the control station via an inexpensive UTP CAT5 cable.

Fibre Optics

Digital extenders transfer the video data of a graphic card (VGA) as binary coded data – not as an analogue signal. This prevents corruption of the signals on the transmission line. Signal quality is fully independent of the cable length, up to the total distance limit. The transfer is done by regular CAT5 or fiber cables. Witin the specific maximum distance of each cable an optimum image quality exists:

DVX2500 up to 1280 x 1024 with 75 Hz and DDXi up to 1600 x 1200 (fiber devices optional up to 1920 x 1200) with 60 Hz.

Infrared
