BC's Newest University
Thompson Rivers University (TRU) builds upon the reputation for excellence established by the University College of the Cariboo in Kamloops and the British Columbia Open University in Burnaby to offer students in BC and around the world a full provincial university. The main TRU campus is in Kamloops, a city of over 80,000 at the centre of the southern Interior of B.C.
The Kamloops Campus selected Tandberg Sanako Labs for their very comprehensive ESL Programmes.
Two 24 position Lab 300's were installed. The labs have the Remote control and screen transfer options installed in them.
The Labs installed were version 5.0, but they will be upgraded to version 6.0 in July or August.
The two labs are totally different in their setup. One is a conventional setup of rows, whereas the student positions in the second lab, are around the outside of the classroom. There is then a discussion area available in the centre of the class.
Wilf Langevin visited Kamloops for a second time in June, to demonstrate the labs, to the 24 member teaching staff.
