St. Francis Xavier University
St. Francis Xavier University was the first University in North America to install a full Tandberg Prisma, Teleste Open System. The installation was completed in May 1997.
The software was updated in November of the same year. The system is a 10 position lab with an NT server. Each student station has Teleste Roadfinder software installed, and a DIVACE Virtual Tape Recorder, which can be used seperately, or as an integrated part of the Tandberg Prisma Lab.
The system also has a Minicom Classnet system which allows the instructor to monitor and control all student monitors, keyboards and mouses. Classnet allows the instructor to show composite video from a VCR directly to all of the students in the classroom.
Update
In August of 2003 the Prisma lab was upgraded to a full Lab 300 (ICM Divace Duo version 4.0) The network based screen transfer and remote control software of the lab was also added to the system. The upgrade was carried out by the St Francis Xavier IT and AV staff with telephone support from Thorvin.
