Sabine wireless microphone systems are selected worldwide for their excellent sound, large channel count, and operating frequencies outside of the uncertain UHF whitespace bands. Here is another success story from our UK Distributor, Community UK.

WiFi generates no problems for Sabine

Saville AV install 30 channels of Sabine radio in a WiFi dense factory!

FG Wilson of Larne, Northern Ireland is one of the world's largest manufacturers of diesel and gas powered generator sets. Even if you aren't familiar with the name, you will have been in a building or attended an event powered by an FG Wilson generator.

As you can imagine, manufacturing generators is a noisy business and for that reason, sound reinforcement systems are required for team briefings and training sessions on the factory floor.

Saville AV of Belfast were asked to provide 10 audio systems for the factory floor, each with three radio microphones. For most people, 30 channels of radio microphones operating simultaneously would be considered problematic in terms of licensing and frequency coordination. For Robert McMillen, Saville's Business Development Manager, however, there was a simple solution - Sabine SWM7000 2.4GHz Smart Spectrum wireless microphones. Only a few weeks previously he had attended a presentation on Sabine's SWM7000 system which is capable of operating with up to 70 simultaneous channels without the need for any licenses.

Initially there was some concern from the client that there would be interference between the Sabine microphones and the factory's Bluetooth and WiFi systems which also operate in the 2.4GHz band. Any problems were avoided by Saville's engineers working closely with the IT staff at FG Wilson to ensure that the microphones were assigned channels that would not interfere with the dozens of WiFi access points installed across the manufacturing facility.

The Sabine microphones have been in use at FG Wilson for a few months now with many years of trouble free use to come, even after the changes to frequency allocations in 2012 that will make many UHF radio mics obsolete.
