Wosk Centre for Dialogue - Simon Fraser University

Located at Seymour and Hastings Streets in downtown Vancouver, Simon Fraser University's Morris Wosk Centre for Dialogue officially opened its doors September 20, 2000. This world class conference facility contains 17 meeting rooms in addition to the Asia Pacific Hall (pictured above) and is housed in a restored historic building, originally constructed in 1920, which served as the BC headquarters for the Toronto Dominion Bank until 1984.

The Auditel Intelligent Delegate Network (IDN) was chosen by the university as the conference microphone and simultaneous interpretation system for the Asia Pacific Hall. The 154 position Auditel IDN System features computer controlled delegate name handling, electronic voting, local sound reinforcement at each delegate position, automated camera control (which projects the delegate's face automatically upon microphone activation) and 8 language simultaneous interpretation.

The microphones can be controlled at both the computer and mimic control console (shown below) in tandem by an operator and chairman, if desired. The system central equipment occupies only 13 rack spaces and utilizes 2 circulating multi-conductor cables. Project AV consultant was Conceptron Associates of Coquitlam BC, and the system was supplied and installed by Columbia Sound and Communication Inc of Surrey, BC.
